Madison Youth Ensembles

Winds of Wisconsin 
Winds of Wisconsin provides outstanding young musicians with an opportunity to learn wind literature of the highest quality and to work with exceptional teachers whose investment in the music education for youth is a top priority.
Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra (WYSO)
Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra is made up of 365 young musicians representing over 80 schools from Southern Wisconsin. WYSO staff is committed to providing a challenging, non-competitive learning environment where students can become excellent musicians
and develop a life-long appreciation of music.

WSMA Programs

High School State Honors
Students selected for the 
WSMA State Honors Music Project participate in a 3-1/2 day summer camp in June and perform in Madison during late October as part of the Wisconsin State Music Conference. The WSMA State Honors Music Project is nationally recognized as one of the finest opportunities for young people. Regardless of your future college major, membership in the High School State Honors Music Project helps set you apart from other college applicants.
Middle Level Honors
WSMA Middle Level Honors
 offers talented youth the opportunity to rehearse and perform with nationally-known conductors in a professional setting. All Honors groups perform at the Wisconsin State Music Conference. Middle Level State Honors students receive their music in August and meet for the first time the day before their fall performance. Rehearsal day and formal concert will take place in the Madison area. Attendance is required at all Honors activities for the entire scheduled time.
