Student Teacher Program


The Student Teacher Program (STP) offers lessons to oboists with less than 2 years playing experience, while giving advanced high school students the opportunity to develop teaching skills.

STP lessons can be in person, via Zoom, or a hybrid model.

​Who can be part of the Student Teacher Program?
  • Oboe students in their first year or two of playing
  • High school students currently in Medisky Oboe Studio (read current teacher bios)

How does it work?
Fill out New Student Form, and Laura will match you with a Student Teacher from her studio. Both the student and the Student Teacher must be able to commit to regular weekly lessons and follow the Student Teacher Program policies.

How much does it cost?
Lessons are 30 minutes, and rates depend on Student Teacher experience. 
  • First year Student Teacher: $12 per lesson
  • Experienced Student Teacher: $15 per lesson

    • Monitor progress and motivate young musicians
    • Make appropriate assignments and set reasonable expectations​​
